The
campfire logo used by the Digital Storytelling Festival represents
humankind's oldest roots of storytelling, sharing our experiences
around a communal hearth. Fire represents life and in the case
of the life of the Festival, the flames are the continuing evolution
of how our stories are told - how our stories are kept alive.
The
2004 Digital Storytelling Festival will be held this year again
in Sedona Arizona. The magnificent red rock country of Sedona
has a rich history of storytelling through the ancient peoples
of the southwest who inhabited the areas surrounding Sedona and
the nearby areas of Oak Creek Canyon and the Verde Valley. One
Native American legend says the red rocks of Sedona are the result
of bloodshed of monsters, slain by an ancient hero.
Sedona's
incredible landscape has also been an inspiration to artists of
many mediums, painting, poetry, photography and filmmaking are
just a few of the methods used to capture the natural beauty,
and the stories of this magical place.
Join
us as we gather in this artistically inspirational and storied
place to explore the use of digital media in the art of storytelling.
Join fellow creative professionals and storytelling enthusiasts
as we showcase the work of the worlds leading practitioners of
Digital Storytelling.
